Getting Started

Pilates Principles offers an intensive, one-on-one Pilates experience, customized to your individual needs and specific goals. Pilates is a program that helps you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy movement.

Mindful Movement

Mindful movement builds on the notion that the body and mind are interconnected. Pilates can give anyone—from beginners to elite athletes—a well-rounded fitness regimen that works the whole body and invigorates the mind.

For Athletes

By focusing on an athlete’s center—the deep abdominal muscles—along with the muscles closest to the spine, Pilates makes athletes more agile, helps prevent injury and increases sports performance.

Physical Therapy

The perfect pairing. With Pilates, your body learns (or re-learns) how to move at its most optimal. If you are in Physical Therapy, Pilates can be an effective complementary treatment. Be sure to discuss any exercise program with your healthcare team.

Awaken Your Body to New Possibilities & Experience the Power of Pilates

Pilates Principles offers private & semi-private sessions in an intimate, professional setting. Our bright and spacious studio is fully equipped with Gratz spring-based apparatus to achieve optimum results. Gratz is a leader in Pilates equipment, building equipment based on Joseph Pilates’ specifications for over half a century.

Focusing on quality of movement, each Pilates session is designed to meet the needs of the individual. Emphasizing safe, correct movement, our hands-on approach benefits all fitness levels from injury recovery to trained athletes.

The goal of Pilates Principles is to extend the work achieved in the studio into daily life. Our wish is to help our clients achieve a more vibrant, harmoniously-functioning body.

At Pilates Principles, we educate and guide clients to rediscover the body’s natural movement and power by building strength from the center out, releasing restrictive patterns, and improving alignment. Ultimately allowing for ease and freedom of movement.

“Being a student of Pilates is a life long endeavor. Even if you are an instructor, the study of Pilates is ongoing and takes a special type of person to continue the study well past what is required to remain Certified. Teresa is such a person. Her continuing passion to understand how to make the work simple to better her clients understanding of their body is undeniable. Her passion in her own work continues and the mastery she has gained to perform the advanced work with true clarity is unmatched. I think Romana (Former Grand Master instructor and a student of Joseph Pilates) would be pleased, as I am.”

– Janice Dulak, Master Instructor

Teresa Boeve, Pilates Principles owner, is a Level IV Romana’s Pilates teacher with over 20 years of experience. While she is highly disciplined in Pilates, Teresa will forever see herself as a student of the work. She is always working to improve her skills by studying and taking classes with Master teachers as often as possible. Understanding that nothing exists in isolation, her hope is that by guiding and educating people to become more aware of their body’s potential and power, the work will positively affect their overall well-being.

“Contrology, develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.”

– Joseph Pilates
